  • On Saturday 18 June 2016 beginning at 1:00 pm the premises of the Úmonín Chateau near Kutná Hora hosted the fourth charity event called "Pre-Holiday Cat Charity Event". The charity event was held by the ALFONZ ÚMONÍN Home for Abandoned Cats, a private shelter for sick and abandoned cats. This event was held in the atmosphere of the past life in the chateau. As usual, both children and adults could enjoy a varied programme not only about cats but also, as a new development, about abandoned and sick horses in the Pamír Home For Abandoned Horses.

The "Cat Charity Events at Úmonín" are held to support the private ALFONZ ÚMONÍN Home for Abandoned Cats and they already have a four-year tradition. In addition to cats the visitors to this year's event could also support sick and otherwise handicapped horses, whose shelter has been newly located at the Úmonín Chateau premises.

The theme of the "Pre-Holiday Cat Charity Event" this time was: In the Atmosphere of the Past Life in the Chateau.  As Šárka Charvátová comments: "The chateau premises and the warm summer afternoon encouraged us to do something unconventional. We believe we have together managed to create a fairy-tale atmosphere not only through the period and fairy-tale outfits of the young visitors but also through what we offered to the adults."

On that Saturday afternoon the chateau welcomed a varied crowd: Not only princesses, queens, princes, knights and kings but also gypsies, floosies, pilgrims as well as water sprites, goblins, dwarves and other creatures.  The rich programme included sausage roasting over an open fire, a chateau sightseeing tour and the selection of Miss Alfonz, where Arthur the Tomcat was the hot favourite. The visitors really enjoyed the fashion show of outfits composed of donated clothes and accessories, the charity market, the photographic studio and the performance of Daniel the Warrior.  As a surprise for the children there was the "Alfonz Dexterity Paw" game with a horror chamber and painting on stones.
